The image in the header of the website is a close-up of the groundwork shown at our February chapter meeting by member Gary Rhunke.
The figure on the base is TBG Miniatures Hawkeye figure in 54mm. The figure is painted with Vallejo paints. The kit came with a resin base and Gary added Woodland Scenics Realistic Water and Water Effects to create a stream through the center. The fallen log, leave debris, and moss recreate the Eastern woodlands habitat of the Last of the Mohicans in the wilderness of upper New York. He used a variety of materials to recreate the foliage and other fallen debris of the base.
Excellent work Gary!
The October meeting of the IPMS Prison City Modelers is tomorrow night, 16 November at 7:00 pm. We’ll be discussing nominations for club officers, and most importantly, selecting the theme for our 2017 contest in September, and do our normal Show What Ya’ Brung.
I also posted the newsletters for October November in the newsletter tab. Here’s a link: http://leavenworthmodelersclub.org/pcm-newsletters/2016-newsletters/
Thank you everyone who came to the show, vended, or just walked in to view the models. We had a great turn-out, and some fantastic models on the tables. Check back in the next couple of days to see the full results posted here, and you can see photos of some of the models on our Facebook site right now– just look to the right column of this page for a link to take you to the page.
Thanks again, and save next year’s date–16 September 2017.

Well, the April 15 meeting is just around the corner. We’ll meet at our normal location,, the Leavenworth Public Library at 7:00 p.m. in the Jahn meeting room, You go to the circulation desk, take a left, and go through the children’s book section to find it. We are up to step four, attaching the wings and some other things.

Everything is going well, with the vendor room full and the models and modelers coming in. Hope to see you here at the Heritage Center.
Finished the P-40 B I was working on. Over all a nice build.
The newsletter archive has been updated with missing newsletters from 2011, 2013, and all of 2014 uploaded. These are the monthly newsletters we send to our members. If you would like to get on our email list, please drop me a line.
You’ll notice that we are missing some newsletters. These are either in between editors and no newsletter was published, or I didn’t keep a copy. If you have one of the missing issues, please send me a copy.
Also, if you have been following along with Curt Pangracs’ build of the M2A3 Bradley, he’s placed more photos and narrative of where he is on the build. Enjoy!
Hello all, just a quick reminder that KC Con 2014 is coming up this Saturday, 15 March. The location is the Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene on 11811 State Line Road. This is being co-hosted by KCAMPS, so armor models will be judged by AMPS rules while all others will be by the normal IPMS method. Good luck to all who go, and bring back some photos!
